Pierwszy z nich – GEOFONIE – to instalacja ujawniająca różnorodność minerałów i substancji organicznych wykorzystywanych w sztukach wizualnych (pigmenty, lakiery, warstwy światłoczułe). Drugi – PROTECTIVE SUITS – to twórcze wykorzystanie tych materiałów do projektowania kostiumów przeznaczonych do użytkowania w ekstremalnych warunkach środowiskowych.
Prace będą prowadzone w kontrolowanym środowisku wizualnym: korzystamy z kolorymetrii, specjalnych typów oświetlenia oraz kamer rejestrujących obraz w bliskiej i średniej podczerwieni. Dzięki temu możliwe jest ujawnienie ukrytych wzorów, projektowanie z uwzględnieniem różnic temperatur oraz właściwości chemicznych wybranych materiałów, a także zwiększenie czułości na kolory.
Odwiedzający i odwiedzające są zaproszeni do komentowania, wymiany pomysłów oraz porównywania własnej percepcji z obrazami przetworzonymi przez systemy widzenia maszynowego. Prezentacja wprowadza w środowiska projektowe dostosowane do poszerzonych pól widzenia, zwracając uwagę na różnorodność sensoryczną i pracę z technologiami wspierającymi.

We set up a living laboratory – a studio where we invite the public to observe artists at work and the creative process.
During its week of operation, the laboratory will carry out two projects combining materials engineering with machine vision technologies. The first of these, GEOFONIE, involves setting up an installation that reveals the diversity of minerals and organic substances used in the visual arts (pigments, varnishes, light-sensitive layers). The second, PROTECTIVE SUITS, involves the creative use of these materials to design costumes for use in extreme environmental conditions.
The work will be carried out in a controlled visual environment: we use colorimetry, special types of lighting, and cameras recording images in the near and medium infrared range, which allows us to bring out hidden patterns, base designs on temperature differences and the chemical properties of selected materials, and increase colour sensitivity.
Visitors are invited to comment, exchange ideas, and to compare their direct perception of the designed objects with images processed by machine vision systems. The presentation introduces design environments tailored to expanding fields of vision, drawing attention to the issue of sensory diversity and working with assistive technologies.
